Artisan Sourdough Baking at Home

Learn to bake artisan sourdough in your very own kitchen without using any machine. We will share with you the techniques of baking sourdough breads using hand mixing methods, what are the things you need to understand and look out for during the process; this includes how to mix the dough, what are the stages of the fermentation process and gluten development, shaping, scoring, resting and what is required for baking sourdough using your home oven.

We will also cover wild yeast (sourdough) starter maintenance, how to determine when your starter is ready to use for baking. A wild yeast starter will be given to all participants to start their sourdough baking journey.

This is a 5hrs workshop with theory and hands on experience. A light sourdough lunch is also provided.

This workshop will benefit those looking at learning to bake breads using the traditional method; without stand mixer, or bread making machine, beginners to sourdoughs and those wanting to know more about the art of hand mixing.
