Introduction to Natural Urban Farming

This 2 hr workshop is conducted in a residential site with a garden that grows at least 50 varieties of food/beneficial plants and trees. The garden produce zero waste and all organic matter goes back into the soil or is broken down by earthworms. The house also collects rainwater for irrigation and has solar panels on the rooftop for energy.

What you will learn in this session:
– Farming with Nature
– Growing in containers and soil in the ground
– Understand soil, water and sunlight needs of plants
– Growing climate appropriate plants in Singapore
– Holistic pest management
– Basic organic principles
– Question and Answer session

What you will take home:
The session will be divided into two parts. We will start with a short garden tour, a theoretical session and a practical session. During the practical session, participants will be doing propagation of plants, which they will be able to bring home.

Workshop Fees:
$45 for 2 hours.

Instructor Bio:
Imran has been involved in natural farming since 2010. His interest includes sustainable living, traditional medicine and homesteading. He used to build small farms and edible gardens in Singapore but is now based in Malaysia where he is growing his own food and does consultancy work for sustainable farm design.
