Green Your Beauty Regime – Demonstrations

Would you like to be sustainable in your beauty routine?

With much of our time and money invested on our daily beauty regime, it makes sense for one to do so on products which not only makes us look and feel good but are also safe for us and friendly to the planet.

In this session, our partner brands “kakis” Iryasa, Wellness Within, sol.plus and Oasis will be demonstrate how natural and eco-friendly products can be effective and part of your beauty regime and how looking and feeling beautiful doesn’t have to be at the expense on our health and environment. We’ll dive into essential oils, natural fragrances and haircare, amongst others.

Speakers:

Iryasa
Sarada Raghavan is a cellular and molecular biologist with a PhD who used to work at A*STAR. Her time there was spent working on bio-routes to produce industrially relevant chemicals without the use of petroleum sources. This growing need for sustainability combined with her passion for health and nutrition, led to the creation of Iryasa. The brand ethos is not just producing safe and effective products for the skin and body but also safe for the soil. Iryasa firmly believes in sustainable ingredient sourcing, maintaining the biodiversity and giving back to their entire supply chain.

Wellness Within
Jasmine Chiam founded Wellness Within because of her years of personal experience battling with eczema and being misled by the greenwashing in beauty industry. Skincare products which had claimed to be free of harmful chemicals turned out to contain other toxins which had worsened her skin condition. Wellness Within’s mission is to advocate affordable and effective natural and organic products that is strictly free of any chemical cocktails harmful to the human body and the environment. They value not just the wellness of their consumers but also that of the planet and the small makers they work with.

Sol.plus
Founder Karyen Chai’s obsession with scents and smell and her care for people and the environment’s wellbeing was what prompted her start to on her journey to create scents made from natural ingredients. She believes in the power of nature to invigorate our senses and spirit.

Oasis
Even though she had no background in the beauty industry, founder Hildra Gwee had personal struggles with skin issues ever since her teenage year from which became her motive to start Oasis – to find natural solutions for the skin to remove dependency on steroid creams and antibiotics which are detrimental to our health. In her very own Beauty Kitchen store, she creates vegan products that are made from carefully sourced and plant-based ingredients that are kind to skin and the environment.

The Organisers:
The Green Collective SG is Singapore’s first collective of sustainable brands curated based on the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Housing more than 42 sustainable brands in its Green Kampung, the collective works with a vision to provide every sustainable products to the community.
