A Healthy French Fry

Comfort while staying healthy? The weekend is up and perhaps time to unglue our bums from the home-office chair and cook up a little TLC for the family? Charissa’s healthy french fries are the perfect companion to home-cooked main – or just as a great snack with your well-deserved glass of wine!

INGREDIENTS:

– 500g Sweet potato

– 1 Tablespoon of sesame oil

– 2 Tablespoons of Olive Oil

– 1/2 Teaspoon of celery salt (sodium-free)

– 1/3 teaspoon paprika

– 1/4 Coarse Black pepper

– Fresh rosemary pieces

– 2 Tablespoons of Nutritional Yeast

INSTRUCTIONS:

Preheat the oven at 380degrees

Slice your sweet potatoes into finger-sized fries, make sure they are similar in size.

Place your sliced sweet potato fries into a large mixing bowl, then start adding all the other ingredients, using your hands to rub the ingredients and oils evenly onto the fries.

Remove from bowl, lay them out on a lined baking tray, bake for around 30-35 min, make sure to check them on a regular basis, shake them around between baking time.

Once baked until golden, you can pop them onto the grill for a few minutes to allow them to get an added crispy crunch.

once ready, allow them to cool for 5 min, sprinkle lemon juice and option to add more nutritional yeast flakes.

My aim is to share healthy alternatives and how to simply add these into your lifestyle in your own unique way, its finding what works for you. My experience in the health and wellness side started years ago, I have always been passionate about living an active healthy lifestyle, hence why I feel the need to share with others, health can be accessible, easy & convenient, it’s just finding what works for you.
