A Healthy French Fry

April 3, 2020

Comfort while staying healthy? The weekend is up and perhaps time to unglue our bums from the home-office chair and cook up a little TLC for the family? Charissa’s healthy french fries are the perfect companion to home-cooked main – or just as a great snack with your well-deserved glass of wine!

INGREDIENTS:

– 500g Sweet potato

– 1 Tablespoon of sesame oil

– 2 Tablespoons of Olive Oil

– 1/2 Teaspoon of celery salt (sodium-free)

– 1/3 teaspoon paprika

– 1/4 Coarse Black pepper

– Fresh rosemary pieces

– 2 Tablespoons of Nutritional Yeast

INSTRUCTIONS:

Preheat the oven at 380degrees

Slice your sweet potatoes into finger-sized fries, make sure they are similar in size.

Place your sliced sweet potato fries into a large mixing bowl, then start adding all the other ingredients, using your hands to rub the ingredients and oils evenly onto the fries.

Remove from bowl, lay them out on a lined baking tray, bake for around 30-35 min, make sure to check them on a regular basis, shake them around between baking time.

Once baked until golden, you can pop them onto the grill for a few minutes to allow them to get an added crispy crunch.

once ready, allow them to cool for 5 min, sprinkle lemon juice and option to add more nutritional yeast flakes.
